Are you tired, weak, and feeling less efficient? You may need iron.

Fatigue, weakness, paleness, decreased performance or difficulty concentrating - these can also be symptoms of iron deficiency. How is your blood iron level? And how do you know the forms of iron and how they are absorbed?

Jste unavení, slabí a cítíte se méně výkonní? Možná potřebujete železo.

Iron is one of the elements that humans cannot do without. It is the main component of hemoglobin (ensures the transfer of oxygen from the lungs to the tissues) and myoglobin (muscle activity) and is involved in the proper functioning of the immune system.

His lack is manifested fatigue, weakness, pallor, reduced performance or concentration problems
The risk groups are: women of reproductive age, pregnant women, children, teenage, athletes and vegetarians/vegans.

Choosing the right form of iron plays a crucial role in its use, as not all forms are absorbed equally by the body.

  • Low bioavailability
    • Iron salts (Fe3+): worst and fluctuating usability
  • Medium bioavailability
    • Ferrous Sulphate/Fumarate/Gluconate: "standards"; they work, but more often cause digestive problems (nausea, constipation)
  • High bioavailability
    • Sucrosomial iron: a modern form that can use alternative routes for absorption
    • Heme iron (Heme iron): also another absorption pathway
  • Highest bioavailability (up to 85+%)
    • Iron bisglycinate (chelate): iron bound to glycine, very gentle on digestion, stable throughout the digestive tract

Chart – Comparison of bioavailability of iron forms*

*graph shows relative bioavailability of different forms of iron based on review studies and clinical comparisons. These are not absolute percentages of absorption, which vary by dose and individual iron status

Beggs Iron Bisglycinate Complex emphasizes tolerance, absorbability and pure composition:

  1. Chelated form of iron (bisglycinate) = source of iron, high bioavailability, excellent tolerance
  2. Rosehip extract (20:1) = natural source of substances related to vitamin C; supports absorption
  3. Beggs lyocomplex (lyophilized spinach, blackberries and blueberries) = functional ingredient, creates a natural absorption environment => less "iron" aftertaste, even better tolerability
  4. Vegan capsule, gluten/lactose/soy free, no synthetic additives
